Hungary and other Member States have endorsed an agreement of representation
in accordance with general Schengen regulations. At the core
of these agreements lies the presumption that applications for
Schengen visa (visa type C, with a short stay up to 90
days per 180 days)
for the participating countries may be lodged at the representation, at the
At the Common Application Centre you can apply for a short-term (visa
type C) Schengen visa if you wish to travel to Austria,
Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, the
Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland or Hungary, and a short-term visa to Croatia.
In case you wish to travel to a country other than those listed above,
please address directly to the Embassy of the country you wish to visit.
Application for residence permit (visa
type D) may be lodged only for Hungary.
The processing of visas for these countries will take place in conformity
with the general Schengen practices.
In the case of a visa application for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland, the decision will be taken
by the Hungarian consul at the Common Application Centre. In the case
of Croatia, the decision will be taken by the Consul of Croatia in Bucharest.
The visas issued at the Hungarian representation are equivalent to the
visas issued by the represented country.
Visa (type C) application processing takes
approximately 5 working days, in special cases
(necessity of additional documents or information) the processing
period can be extended from 10 to 30 days. Visa (type D )
application processing takes approximately 15-20 working
days. We kindly request you to prepare your
journey in advance.
The Common Application Centre offers services of verification in
the SIS (Schengen Information System - refusing for entry
or stay) and, consequently, provide all necessary information about
your trip in the Schengen Area.
